Supporting Selfridges’ Origin of Wonder sculpture

In one of our more unusual projects, Thomasons was involved in the structural design of the ‘Origin of Wonder’ sculpture for long-term client Selfridges, which was unveiled in May.

Designed by Haberdashery, the sculpture celebrates the 10th anniversary of Selfridges’ Wonder Room, which showcases the world’s most desirable jewellery and watches.

The sculpture uses intricate graphics on photo-etched brass panels to tell the story of how precious metals and gems are extracted, refined and crafted into beautifully formed final articles. The panels are arranged in a 20m circular formation suspended high above the retail space.

This stunning artwork was installed outside opening hours, over five nights.
