Next, our retail project in Solihull is shortlisted for a second award
We’re thrilled to be in the running for another award!
A project by Thomasons Birmingham to transform a retail unit for Next, in Solihull, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Low Carbon Leader category of the 2016 New Civil Engineer 100 Awards.
These brand new awards recognise firms that are leading the way in showcasing outstanding civil engineering practices.
Thomasons’ project for Next has already won a prestigious Institution of Structural Engineers regional award and was described by the judges as “an excellent example of engineering prowess.”
It involved complex and significant alterations to a single storey 35,000 sq. ft. retail unit to boost the floor space. A new mezzanine floor was added, which required raising the entire roof by 1.5 metres.
Finalists face a rigorous face-to-face interview with a panel of judges made up of clients and peers. The winners will be announced at the New Civil Engineer 100 Awards on 11th May 2016 in London.
