Work starts on landmark housing project for Sutton Council
A turf-cutting ceremony has been held to mark the official start of a milestone programme by Sutton Council to build the first new council houses in the borough for nearly 30 years. Thomasons is acting as civil and structural engineers on the £28m project.
93 high-quality family homes, in a mix of houses and apartments, will be built across three brownfield sites in Wallington, Carshalton and Beddington. Over 90% of the homes will be provided for affordable rent or shared ownership.
Thomasons is working on the project in partnership with contractors Kind & Company and award-winning architects Bell Phillips. The homes are scheduled for completion in late 2018/early 2019.
