Perega secures prestigious engineering consultancy position
Perega have been appointed as an expert consultant in the North West region on a new framework, launched by social housing consortium Effficiency North Holdings Ltd.
Perega is one of 70 construction companies selected by EN:Procure, Efficiency North Holdings Ltd’s specialist procurement arm, to provide expert engineering consultancy for future projects covered by the framework across The North and East Midlands.
The new framework itself will deliver a full range of cutting-edge, cost-efficient and easy-to-access consultancy services for Efficiency North’s membership and customers in the social housing and wider public sector.
Developed mainly for social housing, the framework is also relevant to other public sector buildings including schools, universities, offices and core infrastructure.
With a total estimated value of £10.4m across a four-year lifetime, the framework offers a comprehensive portfolio of service lots, from quantity surveying and architecture through to structural engineering and civil engineering.
The framework operates according to two principle call-off routes: Direct Selection and Mini Competition. The former is a simple mechanism allowing the selection of a relevant consultant without a separate tender process. The latter invites all eligible consultants from a relevant lot to tender for the specific project.
Both call-off routes allow for capability criteria to source and ensure the correct consultants are selected, guaranteeing quality and security.
EN:Procure Director of Operations Emma Mottram commented, “Following a detailed and challenging test of so many tenderers’ capacity, competency and efficiency we are delighted to have achieved such a diverse offer in the Framework, with a mix of larger national practices as well as smaller local businesses.
“We are very much looking forward to working with Perega, and our other successful consultants, to find solutions that meet the needs of our members and their communities in the current challenging economic climate.”
Commenting on the significance of the appointment our Director, David Manion, adds, “This is an important new framework for the region and we’re pleased to have won a place in such a hotly contested tendering process. Our work will be specifically focused on the North West, an area where there is an urgent requirement for more social housing and public sector infrastructure.
“We look forward to working with Efficiency North Holdings Ltd., its members and customers to help them tackle the engineering challenges they face. Operating from our Leeds office, I know that our team of expert structural and civil engineers have what it takes to offer creative and bespoke solutions for any project, no matter the scale or ambition.”
