Thomasons Director scoops Expert Witness Award

Nick Russell, Senior Director at our Guildford office, has been selected for an Expert Witness Award by Lawyer Monthly magazine, for his outstanding service as an expert witness.

The awards recognise experts with exceptional knowledge and experience in their field, and a strong track record in helping courts reach sound legal decisions.

Nick was nominated by the barristers and solicitors with whom he works. Jonathan Mitchell, Barrister at Ropewalk Chambers says:

“Nick is one of the best expert witnesses I have ever called. He has that rare ability to explain to a layman a difficult, technical subject concisely and with absolute clarity. He is easy to work with, responds quickly and in the witness box presents as a balanced and thoughtful witness. One cannot ask for more from an expert witness.”

Nick’s expertise is founded on a 36-year career in structural and civil engineering and his close ties with the profession over many years – in particular the Institution of Structural Engineers, of which he is a past President. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, a member of its Advisory Board and will shortly take up a three-year chair of the Joint Board of Moderators, which accredits civil engineering degrees.
