Thomasons appoints new Head of Civil Engineering

We are pleased to welcome Xavier Martinez who has joined Thomasons in the new role of Head of Civil Engineering. Based in our London office, Xavier will oversee Thomasons’ civil engineering projects in our London, Birmingham, Guildford, Leeds and Southend-on-Sea offices and develop this sector of the business.

A Chartered Civil Engineer and project management professional with more than 18 years’ experience, Xavier joins from engineering consultants Roughton International, where he headed the civils and structures divisions. He has specific expertise in water-related infrastructure projects, in the UK and Spain, which has included design work related to the sewer infrastructure in Barcelona.

Thomasons Director Nick Russell comments: “Our civil engineering work is expanding, either as part of a structural engineering project or as a project in its own right. In his new role, Xavier will be able to advise clients on civil engineering issues from the very start of a project, helping us to develop this part of the business. His expertise and experience gained from working for engineering and construction companies will be invaluable in achieving this growth and will reinforce our strategy of developing Thomasons as a centre of engineering excellence across the UK.”
