Perega raises the standard with BIM accreditation

We are delighted to announce that Perega has achieved BS EN ISO 19650:2 certification, following a comprehensive assessment by leading global assurance partner LRQA.

What started out as a UK requirement for government-funded construction products, has now transitioned into an international ISO standard. With the first parts launched in 2018, the framework is now made up of five, with part-2 specifically setting out the process for the management and collaborative production of information during the delivery phase of assets.

With an uncompromising attitude towards regulatory compliance, we understood that to be successful in a competitive environment, we must be fully committed to innovation and continuous improvement. That meant looking closely at our processes and making sure they add value to the organisation and our clients.

A gap analysis in July 2021 allowed us to evaluate where change may be necessary and following that process, a BIM working group was formed of staff across our offices. Over a period of 18 months the group reviewed workflows with the aim of complying to the standard and serving the business well. The assessment process took place over two days with news of our success following shortly after.

Having achieved this certification shows real commitment to our vision and further embeds the values within our business. We are delighted to be able to demonstrate our ability to facilitate greater collaboration and coordination of information on our projects. Whilst ISO 19650 benefits all stakeholders on a project, we are looking forward to better meeting the needs of our clients through a managed process, improved efficiency and reduced costs.
