Perega Director Steve Brock becomes chartered member of Engineers Ireland
Today, Perega announces Director Steve Brock’s chartership with Engineers Ireland.
Adding to his laurels as a chartered engineer and member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE), Steve joins one of Ireland’s biggest professional bodies, demonstrating a commitment to career development and ambition to expand his remit in Ireland and abroad. The membership is internationally recognised in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK and throughout Europe.
Within Ireland itself, Steve is now able to act on projects as Design Certifier or Assigned Certifier – crucial roles for meeting building control regulation SI 9. A statutory role defined under the Building Control (Amended) Regulations 2014, a Design Certifier ensures ancillary certificates are obtained for other members of the design team. They are also responsible for signing the Design Certificate which must be lodged prior to commencement on site.
Steve can now use the letters MIEI in his title, denoting his affiliation with over 25,000 other chartered engineers similarly dedicated to delivering excellence in engineering.
Steve comments, “Over the last few years, our involvement in projects in the Republic of Ireland has been increasing, including façade designs and expert witness appointments. This prompted me to apply for chartership. It also allows me to fulfil the roles of Design Certifier and Assigned Certifier for projects in Ireland. This is hugely beneficial as it expands how we can support projects there.”
