Eleana Savvidi joins Perega as new Associate
We are delighted to welcome the talented Eleana Savvidi as our newest Associate.
Eleana comes to Perega with a wealth of experience under her belt. Having graduated from City, University of London in 2013 with a first-class master’s degree in civil engineering, she subsequently qualified as a structural engineer. For the first five years of her career, she worked with several leading firms and consultancies before joining Morph Structures in 2018, rising through the business to become an Associate in the autumn of 2023.
Over the past decade, she has worked on a multitude of exciting projects, spanning many different sectors, from commercial and residential to community and heritage. Highlights to date include work with the Foreign Office abroad, on historic refurbishments as well as new-build assets with requirements for a complex seismic strategy. Other stand-out work, demonstrating her wide-ranging skillset, includes the structural design for the forward-thinking Styles House development, Southwark, and technical design for the commercial conversion of Challoner House, Clerkenwell.
Joining Perega in January 2024, as an Associate she will be responsible for the day-to-day management of her project team, ensuring work is delivered within agreed budgets and programmes to the highest quality.
This includes providing technical support, as well as becoming the primary point of communication with clients, other consultants and colleagues to ensure briefs are agreed and adhered to. She will also be responsible for implementing business goals and strategy in support of the directors.
Beyond the day-to-day, Eleana is also a passionate advocate for professional development, and we look forward to her contribution to our mentoring programme, helping inspire and nurture our junior engineers.
An active member of the IStructE, from which she attained her chartered status in 2020, she previously chaired its London Young Members Group and continues to participate in the Editorial Advisory Group for the institution’s magazine, ‘The Structural Engineer’. Since 2015, she has also been a STEM Ambassador for educational charity STEMNET, as well as a professional mentor for City, University of London, championing the importance of these skills at every opportunity.
Commenting on the appointment, Fraser Robb, Perega’s Managing Director, says, “Eleana’s achievements, in such a short space of time, are nothing short of impressive. However, her range of skills and creative approach to structural engineering are only half the story. The work she has done with the IStructE over the past few years and her dedication to her personal development demonstrate her unwavering commitment to the wider profession. Importantly, this proactive approach and positive attitude reflect Perega’s wider values and ethos, including what we look for in our engineers. We look forward to supporting Eleana’s further development and benefiting from the considerable value she will bring as we continue to grow the business.”
