Thomasons goes Caribbean with new Turtle Bay contract
Turtle Bay, the Caribbean-themed restaurant chain, has appointed Thomasons as structural engineering consultant for its restaurants across the UK.
There are currently around 30 Turtle Bay restaurants and the company has embarked on a rapid expansion programme. Each restaurant is individually designed by architects Fusion Design, with Thomasons responsible for the structural alterations of existing buildings and designing the complex fit out features at each venue, including beach bars with corrugated steel roofs, scaffold pole canopies and kitchens within stacked steel shipping containers.
The most recent project involves the fit out of a 17th century coaching inn at Staines-upon-Thames; other new Turtle Bay restaurants at Exeter and Birmingham are in the pipeline.
