Thomasons provided structural and civil engineering expertise throughout the three-year project, which has transformed the school with superb new facilities that provide an outstanding learning environment.

The enhancements were achieved within the school’s existing footprint. A large section of the school was demolished to make way for the new building, which houses a stunning multi-purpose atrium, new library with separate 6th form mezzanine, design and technology room and 25 large classrooms, with wider corridors and breakout areas adding to the space.

Thomasons was responsible for the design of the new building, retaining structures and underground drainage, with the work carried out in a restricted space while the school operated as normal.

Having worked in partnership with Tormead for many years, Thomasons’ former projects include designing its performing arts centre and junior school building.
