The Landings, Kings Hill
Client: Anchor Hanover
Architect: Tooley & Foster Partnership
Contractor: Bouygues
Value: £17 million
Perega has started work on another project for Anchor Hanover, with the development of 75 assisted living apartments in the centre of Kings Hill in Kent. Kings Hill is the redevelopment of the former RAF West Malling.
Projects of this nature require considerable forward planning. While residents’ current mobility needs must be taken into consideration, their future requirements also need to be planned for. This includes how they find their way around, access different parts of the development and make full use of the facilities as their needs change.
The contemporary design includes a large double height atrium surrounded by communal facilities and many of the apartments feature glass balconies that overlook the landscaped gardens.
The building is to be constructed using a combination of both light gauge steel and hot rolled steel framing on pad foundations.
Surface water is discharged in to deep bore soakaways extending some 25 metres below gound.
