Martech, Dewsbury

Perega acted as civil and structural engineers for Martech’s £6m industrial redevelopment project comprising of a warehouse, factory, and office on a brownfield site in Dewsbury.

Stage 1 of the redevelopment is the warehouse, which measures 70m by 40m was completed in late 2017. The second and third phases progressed in 2018.

The geotechnical investigation for the site showed poor ground conditions and as a consequence, the client had allowed in his budget for a piled foundation solution for the building and it’s floor slab. Perega, having considered the findings of the investigation, specified instead a ground improvement using vibro compaction. This saved £250,000 and reduced the construction programme by four weeks.
