CAD/BIM Technician, Waterloo
Role

Responsibilities of the role
- Ensure models/drawings are delivered to a high technical standard and compliant with the agreed schedule of deliverables.
- Ensure models/drawings are prepared in accordance with quality procedures.
- Maintain technical control and agreed programme of projects.
- Liaise effectively with design team members.
- Effectively manage own time and expenditure on tasks.
- Complying with company policies.
- Adopting ‘best practice’.
- Be proactive in self-development.
- Coordinate design to the brief.
- Produces and/or amends information in accordance with the Project SMP (standard method and procedure). Ensures graphical models are spatially coordinated (clash avoidance); escalates any issues to the Information Manager.
- Responsible for content creation and ongoing ownership of the content.
- Responsible for output production.
- Submits information for approval in accordance with the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP).
- Ensures all elements of the Information Model are fully coordinated.
- Develop the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP).
Key Skills
Essential
- Understanding construction principles.
- Experience in the application of software and aware of its limitations.
- Effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work within the ISO 19650 environment and associated processes.
Preferable
- Knowledge of document control systems.
- HND/HNC in civil/structural engineering.
Key Competencies
Technical
- Familiar with the detailing requirements of British Standards/Eurocodes.
- Competent in model creation using Revit software.
- Able to use AutoCAD computer drafting software packages.
- Knowledge of detailing and construction methods.
- Have an understanding of CDM Regulations.
Judgement and decision making
- Able to identify drafting problems
Communication
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to produce accurate and clear information to communicate engineering solutions
Relationship building
- Able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships
