Apprentice Structural Engineer, Leeds
Role
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and driven apprentice who is keen to learn. You will be responsible for assisting others with civil and structural design work on tasks under supervision to ensure the tasks are delivered as briefed. This includes communicating with colleagues in the delivery of tasks. As part of this role you will have a commitment to self-development and the improvement of your technical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities of the role
- Execute work as directed by senior staff
- Assist with the production of technical design information including drawings and calculations
- Produce designs, and calculations in accordance with quality procedures
- Liaising effectively with design team members
- Complying with company policies
- Adopting ‘best practice’
- Able to work within programme constraints
- Be proactive in self-development
Key Skills
Essential
- Appropriate A Level in Maths, English and Science
- Sound understanding of Maths
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Proactive approach to work
- Commitment to continual improvement at a personal and company level
- Able to use computer design software packages
- Able to understand engineering concepts
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Work effectively within and across teams and project groups
Preferred
- A level in Physics and/or BTEC Engineering
- Knowledge of design software and its limitations
